Enhanced Siri and Advanced Apple Intelligence Set to Arrive on iPhones This Spring

Siri is poised for a significant upgrade in spring 2025 with the rollout of Apple’s new AI system, Apple Intelligence, through the iOS 18.4 update. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter, this update will bring advanced capabilities to all users, surpassing Apple's previous hints at next year's flagship AI features.

Apple typically introduces new features gradually through point updates across its operating systems. This means Siri could soon perform tasks like locating your ID from thousands of photos and copying your driver’s license number for online forms, thanks to Apple Intelligence. However, features like AI-powered emoji creation or writing assistance might debut later. The specific timeline will become clearer as iOS 18 beta versions start integrating these features later this year, with a full release expected in 18.4.

This fall, users can anticipate ChatGPT integration, a revamped Siri interface featuring a pulsing rainbow around the screen bezel, and enhanced product knowledge enabling Siri to provide basic tech support.

Looking ahead, Apple’s AI ambitions include rumored AirPods with embedded cameras and infrared sensors, potentially working with the Vision Pro for hand gesture and motion detection. These advanced AirPods, possibly two generations away, could function similarly to Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses, offering AI-driven features like environmental description and navigation assistance.
