Summary

In recent years, smartphone hardware advancements have been mostly incremental. To encourage more frequent upgrades, manufacturers have been focusing on exclusive software features. Apple is no exception, with its Apple Intelligence feature available only on the iPhone 15 Pro and newer models, making it a significant selling point for the upcoming iPhone 16. However, with the anticipated AI features delayed until October, will Apple still launch the iPhone 16 in September? Here's what the rumors suggest.

Bloomberg reports that Apple is expected to maintain its tradition of launching new iPhones in September. Typically, Apple unveils its flagship smartphones on a Tuesday in mid-September, with the announcement likely to occur on September 10. According to the report:

Apple Intelligence will not be available to the public until the release of iOS 18.1, which is expected in October. Therefore, those purchasing the iPhone 16 on launch day may need to wait a few weeks or use the beta software to access the new AI features. This situation is not unprecedented for Apple. Last year, the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 were launched without the double-tap gesture, a key feature that was only introduced in October with watchOS 10.1.
