Summary

Instagram is rolling out a new feature, ‘AI Studio,’ which will allow creators to develop AI versions of themselves. This exciting announcement came from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who revealed on his broadcast channel that this feature is currently in an early testing phase with a select group of creators and users in the United States.

Zuckerberg mentioned that in the upcoming weeks, users might start noticing AI representations of their favorite creators and interest-based AIs on Instagram, primarily appearing in messaging. These AI entities will be clearly marked as AI.

During the broadcast, Zuckerberg showcased several examples of conversations with these AI-driven creator chatbots. He highlighted collaborations with creators like the meme account ‘Wasted’ and Don Allen Stevenson III to develop early versions of these chatbots.

These AI chatbots are particularly advantageous for creators with large follower bases, as they can interact with the community on the creator’s behalf and respond to messages. According to Zuckerberg, Instagram creators can initiate conversations by tapping the ‘Message’ button, with a notice informing users that the messages are AI-generated and might be inaccurate or inappropriate. The creator’s name will feature an ‘AI’ prefix and a ‘beta’ suffix.

Last year, Meta introduced AI Studio, a platform that allows business owners to create AI-powered chatbots for messaging services like Messenger, Facebook, and Instagram. This new feature for Instagram creators is a continuation of that initiative, aiming to enhance interaction and engagement on the platform.
