Ooredoo Supports Qatar's Quantum Computing Advancement with HBKU Partnership

Doha, Qatar: Ooredoo, a leading provider of telecommunications and ICT services in Qatar, has announced a significant contribution of QR 2,800,000 to Hamad Bin Khalifa University's (HBKU) Qatar Centre for Quantum Computing (QC2).
This investment will support the development of Qatar’s inaugural quantum communication testbed, a groundbreaking project that is set to revolutionize secure communication in the country.
The secure quantum communication testbed, a core initiative of QC2, leverages quantum cryptography to provide an unprecedented level of security, far exceeding the capabilities of traditional cryptographic methods. This cutting-edge technology will lay the foundation for Qatar's future quantum networks, serving as a precursor to the next-generation Quantum Internet.
Upon completion, this testbed will place Qatar at the forefront of quantum communication technology in the region, driving the growth of a new market and contributing to the local economy.
