Samsung's Galaxy AI, introduced earlier this year, is a collection of AI-driven features designed to enhance everyday user experiences. One notable feature is Live Translate, which provides real-time translation for voice calls. Samsung is now extending this capability to WhatsApp calls.
New Feature Integration with One UI 6.1.1 In a recent announcement, Samsung revealed plans to integrate real-time translation into third-party apps. This update will soon include WhatsApp, the leading instant messaging and calling app.
Renowned tipster Ice Universe shared that this new translation feature will be available on compatible Galaxy phones. The official announcement is expected during Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10, where the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be unveiled. These devices will feature One UI 6.1.1, which will introduce the Live Translate functionality for WhatsApp voice calls.
The Live Translate feature processes data locally on the device, ensuring privacy and security. In addition to WhatsApp, Samsung plans to extend this feature to other apps like Google Meet and WeChat. However, official confirmation is awaited.
Samsung's Galaxy AI also supports real-time translation in its stock Messages app and various third-party messaging apps, including WhatsApp. The company’s Interpreter Mode, designed for face-to-face conversations, will also see enhancements with the upcoming One UI 6.1.1 update.
Samsung's goal with these translation features is to break down language barriers and foster better communication among users.
