The "Taiwan Expo in India," organized by the International Trade Administration (TITA) under Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), kicked off on July 8 in New Delhi.
This year's edition saw a remarkable 30% growth in the number of participating companies compared to the previous year, with over 100 exhibitors presenting their innovations in areas like "Smart Technology" and "Green Energy." These exhibitors explored various business opportunities in the burgeoning Indian market.
Over the course of its three-day run, the event attracted around 15,000 visitors and welcomed 1,200 buyers. The expo featured five key focus areas: "smart manufacturing," "sustainable development," "smart cities," "smart living," and "health and wellness," which underscored Taiwan’s leadership in these fields. Cutting-edge solutions in solar energy, electric vehicle technology, and AI-driven lifestyle products were displayed, aligning closely with India's policy initiatives such as "Make in India," "Digital India," and "Green India."
A key highlight was the innovative approach to fostering cross-industry alliances, particularly within the petrochemical, machinery, and textile sectors. Notable zones like the "Smart Machinery Pavilion" and "Sustainable Innovative Textile Zone" demonstrated how smart solutions can revolutionize supply chains.
Further cementing Taiwan-India collaboration, the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF), laying the foundation for increased bilateral industry collaboration.
According to TITA, India's rapidly evolving manufacturing sector is set to spur demand in consumer goods and related industries such as petrochemicals, textiles, packaging, and building materials, providing Taiwanese businesses with ample opportunities for expansion in the region.
