Tencent, a leading Chinese internet company, announced an impressive 82% increase in net profits for the second quarter, marking its largest growth since late 2020. According to a filing with the Hong Kong stock exchange, Tencent's net profit reached $6.7 billion from April to June, up from $3.7 billion in the same period last year. The company's sales also saw an 8% year-on-year increase, totaling $22.5 billion.
"Our Q2 2024 results highlight the effectiveness of our platform and content strategy," Tencent stated in the filing. "Looking ahead, we will continue to invest in our platforms and technologies, including AI, to create new business value and better serve our users."
