Google Chrome is rolling out three new AI-driven features to enhance internet searches, making it easier for users to find what they need.

Google Chrome is set to introduce three innovative AI-powered features aimed at improving the search experience. Parisa Tabriz, Google's vice president for Chrome, announced these updates, which will integrate Google Lens and Gemini technology into the browser, expanding their reach beyond their primary applications.

Initially, these features will be available to Chrome users in the U.S., with no specific timeline provided for other regions.

The first feature enhances Google Lens, aligning it with the Circle to Search functionality found on modern Pixel smartphones. By selecting the tool's icon in the browser URL or accessing it through the right-click or three-dot menu, users can select onscreen objects. Once an object is clicked, it will be highlighted, and visual matches will appear in a side panel, similar to a standard Google search. Users can further refine their searches by color, brand, or other details using multi-search options.

Google Gemini will allow users to delve deeper into specific items or topics by asking questions for more detailed information. Some searches will trigger an AI overview, depending on the initial query. This feature was briefly tested in a recent Chrome beta, and its quick release suggests Google's confidence in its value.

Another new addition is Tab Compare, which consolidates several tabs of similar products into a single window, generating AI descriptions for each item. This feature will display different versions of a product from various brands, providing key information for easy comparison.

Lastly, Chrome's browser history will receive a generative AI boost, enabling users to find specific details without relying solely on keywords.

For example, users can ask Chrome to show any ice cream shops visited online in the past week, and the results will include all relevant pages from their personal history.
