Google Introduces Gemini AI for Enhanced Email Writing and Summarization in Gmail

Google has unveiled a new Gemini AI side panel in Gmail, designed to assist users in drafting emails and summarizing email threads. This innovation is part of a broader rollout that includes integrating Gemini AI into Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive. Announced at Google's recent I/O developer conference, these features underscore Google's commitment to advancing AI technology.

With Gemini in Gmail, users can now receive help in composing emails and generating suggested responses. Additionally, users can query specific information from their inbox or Google Drive files. The AI provides helpful prompts to initiate queries, such as asking for a purchase order number or details about past company expenditures.

These capabilities are available to Google Workspace customers with specific Gemini add-ons or a Google One AI Premium subscription. In Google Docs, Gemini assists in writing, refining content, summarizing information, and brainstorming ideas. For Slides, Gemini generates new slides and custom images, while in Sheets, it helps organize data, create tables, and generate formulas. In Drive, Gemini summarizes documents and provides quick project insights.

Access to these advanced features requires a paid Gemini subscription for Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Drive users.
