Majlise Islah wa Tanzeem recently hosted an informative one-day workshop on cybersecurity and cyber laws at Rabita Hall in Bhatkal. The workshop was organized by the Media Watch Committee and aimed to enhance awareness about online security among students, social media influencers, group administrators, and community leaders.

The event featured Advocate BT Venkatesh, a renowned human rights advocate and former Karnataka public prosecutor, who discussed the dual nature of social media. Venkatesh highlighted how social media can both empower and endanger users, pointing out issues like misinformation, privacy violations, and cyberbullying. He urged attendees to use social media responsibly and critically assess the content they engage with.

Dr. Anant Prabhu, a leading expert in cybersecurity, followed with a detailed presentation on cyber threats and legal protections. He addressed various forms of cybercrimes, including phishing, identity theft, and hacking, and emphasized the importance of vigilant online behavior. Dr. Prabhu offered practical advice on safeguarding personal information, such as using strong passwords and two-factor authentication, and outlined the legal frameworks designed to combat cybercrimes.

The workshop also featured interactive sessions where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and receive tailored advice on navigating the digital landscape safely. Notable attendees included Majlise Islah wa Tanzeem President Inayathullah Shabandri, Vice President Ateequr Rahman Muniri, General Secretary Moulana Abdul Raqeeb MJ, and Admin Secretary Jailani Shabandri, among others.
