Summary

Snapchat announced a range of new personalization options on Tuesday, enhancing the user experience, particularly for Snapchat+ subscribers. These updates enable users to design customized houses on Snap Map, share ultra-quick Snaps, and edit their Bitmoji avatars, among other features.

In an effort to stand out in the crowded social media landscape and attract more subscribers to its premium service, now with 9 million users, Snapchat is focusing on unique personalization features. Snapchat+ subscribers can now design personalized houses on Snap Map, which will be visible to friends they share their location with. Users can choose different styles and colors, creating anything from a realistic home to a whimsical castle.

This feature sets Snap Map apart from other location-based services like Apple’s Find My and Life360 by offering a creative twist.

Additionally, subscribers can have their pets appear alongside their Bitmoji in chats. While pets have been visible on Snap Map, this update allows them to be present in all chat interactions, adding a fun, personal touch.

Another exciting feature is the ability to send lightning-quick Snaps, with options for content that lasts only 0.10, 0.20, or 0.50 seconds. This innovation takes Snapchat's hallmark of brief, ephemeral content to new extremes.

For all users, Snapchat is introducing a “live mirror” in its Bitmoji Builder interface, making it easier to create Bitmoji that closely resemble them. This tool uses the camera's viewfinder to automatically select features, simplifying the personalization process.

Additionally, Snapchat highlighted its AI-powered Lenses, including one that shows users what they looked like five years ago.
